At AllesWirdGut, we see it as our immediate responsibility to make our own contribution to sustainability issues. So, we want to get on with (well, actually, get ahead) this commitment to nature, and hence also to humankind, every step of the way by incorporating, as deeply as the bottom of the sea, the idea of sustainability into each and every one of our concepts and projects. For we are convinced that anyone and everyone can lend a helping hand in staking out our joint path into the future. This is cause and reason enough to present our attitude and our projects, which could not be more future-oriented and more sustainable. As we see it, they all are steps in the right direction—taken under the motto: Make it sustainable, simple, beautiful!

Less becomes more. For AllesWirdGut, sufficiency stands for sustainable, well-conceived and resource-saving design. During the design phase, we focus on getting the maximum out of a minimum. Tools like Madaster are essential here, because they offer a comprehensive material database, which enables not only efficient resource management, but also transparent mapping of the entire life cycle of construction materials. The integration of life cycle assessments and the Building Resource Passport is a sine qua non to quantify environmental impacts. All this enables us, and therefore our clients, to make conscious choices to advance the use of materials with minimal ecological footprints. This is how we create a synergy of attractive architecture and a sustainable and future-oriented building culture.

Appreciate what has been built. Conversion and repurposing of existing buildings are crucial aspects in our understanding of architecture as well as for viability in designing our built-up environment of tomorrow. Inspired and innovative planning can not only modernize but also functionally retrofit a building for new purposes to give it a sustainable future. Sustainability-oriented planning thus facilities an extension of building service life, reducing the need for new construction and minimizing the ecological footprint. Keeping the balance between tradition and modernity not only serves cultural continuity, but also makes maximum use of resources.

We converted an old industrial building – the Gösserhalle (GOH) – into a modern iconographic company headquarters, Vienna (AT) | 2023

The success of what we do today for the built environment of tomorrow is like a snow globe: The concept only works once you start turning yourself around.

Integral building planning: We take into account both current factors such as biodiversity and microclimate, as well as future aspects such as the life cycle of a building.

AllesWirdCircular The life cycle of buildings extends from planning to demolition and recycling of materials used, while on the other hand, building materials go through different life cycles within their value chain. At AllesWirdGut, we use the Madaster platform, which enables efficient management of the life cycles of buildings as well as materials, advancing sustainable solutions across all planning stages.

Be fit for whatever’s coming Resilience of buildings to environmental impacts is decisively influenced by the microclimate. Careful placement of shade providers and the planning of green façades minimizes direct sunlight incidence and reduces the heating-up of the building envelope—which in turn has a positive effect on the local climate. The effect of albedo, i.e. the reflection of sunlight, helps to reduce heat absorption. In total, these measures not only improve thermal comfort on the inside but also the energy efficiency and longevity of the buildings. These integrative approaches promote sustainable resilience to climatic challenges and contribute to creating resilient urban environments.

regional timber

With the climate changing, the choice of materials as well as transportation of materials during construction is becoming more and more significant.

regional natural materials

Use of regional materials minimizes the enormous carbon dioxide impact.

You get shorter transportation routes, reduced storage times, and lower prices.‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌

flexible & durable

The construction principle of “screwing not gluing” means that waste produced through repairs over the course of the building’s life cycle is avoided as far as possible.
